Ross Ching und Karen X. Cheng machen die hügeligen Strassen von San Francisco platt, indem sie ihre Kamera so drehen, dass es aussieht, als wären sie auf plattem Land. Kein neuer Effekt, aber sehr charmant zu »I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’« von den Scissor Sisters umgesetzt.

Ross got the idea for this video after seeing some photos with the “tilted camera” effect on steep streets. Since San Francisco is so hilly, it was the perfect city for this idea. The week before we filmed this, we ran all around San Francisco looking for steepest streets we could find (and gained some killer calve muscles).

Der erste Teil von Thrashlabs Serie »Empty America« leert die Strassen von San Francisco von Menschen und Automobilen. Mit einem ganz einfachen Prinzip (das wird von Regisseur Ross Ching im zweiten Video erklärt) und einem großartigen Ergebnis.
Irgendwie schaut man doch anders auf eine fremde Stadt, wenn da kein Gewusel drin ist.
Wäre noch toller (und auf jeden Fall viiiiiiel unheimlicher), wenn’s kein zuckersüßer Zeitraffer wäre.
